By International News Sert e LOS AN.GELE3, Dec 9 In the divorce suit brought by Mrs Helen Borden aga nst her hns band Gail Borden, the New Tork multi millionaire Superior Court Judge Monroe today indicated that he would grant Mrs Borden a decree as soon as she has filed with the court a copy of a letter which she said she wrote Borden in 1911 asking him to 0 n her in re-establishing a home The strongest ev dence( according to Jndgo Monroe was given by Miss Ea mona Borden called the poor little rich girl who In testifying for her mother said Bhortly after the first divorce ease between father and mother we met in New York. I was in ono room and father and mother were ln an adjo n ing room and I heard mother ask him to come back. But father refused to do so I wanted them to live together for my sake but father wouldn t do it ' Miss Borden at the time her father and mother were in the divorce court In 1911 told of the sad predi ament of a little girl who couldn t have any thing but money Her father loved her she sa d but expressed it principally by giving her money She 1 ved with him for a time but later came to live with her mother in California. Mrs Borden L. B. Valk her father and G M. Siidmore cousin, were the other witnesses Mrs Borden said "I wrote my husband and asked him directly to come bacn to Californ a His business, he said kept him in New Tork ' Asked by the court what Mr Bor den s business was she replied cut ting coupons He inherited stock in a company but takes no active interest n its affairs He simply draws his dm dends Judge Monroe then stated that if Mrs Borden produced a copy of the letter in quest on he would grant the decree Mrs Borden s attorney s sa d they would file the letter with the court |
