Show URGES MUNICIPAL MEAT INSPECTION State Food Inspector Hansen Confers With City Food Inspector Shorten at Ogden. The urgerjt need of a municipal meat inspection bureau in Ogden and a central cen-tral office for making such inspection was pointed out by Willard Hansen, state food inspector, duriue a conference confer-ence with George Shorten, citv food inspector, in-spector, in Ogden yesterday. 'The principal prin-cipal object of the state official's visit was to make an inspection of the Ogden Og-den Packing & Provision company s plant on West Twenty-fourth street. Mr. Hansen contends that the consumers con-sumers are well protected in the matter mat-ter of products from the packing company's com-pany's plant, for there is a government govern-ment inspection at that place, but no small amount of meat is brought to the city by farmers and small slaughtering slaughter-ing companies which is sold without inspection. in-spection. It is for the benefit of the public that he would establish a municipal mu-nicipal inspection bureau for this class of products. A plan for the establishment establish-ment of such a department probably will be suggested to the Ogden city commission by Mr. Shorten in the near future. |
