I FRENCH STEAMER DINORAH IS HIT The Norwegian Steamer Nordkyn Strikes Mine in cauic oea and does Down With All on Board; First Fruits of the War Zone Order. The British admiralty ad-miralty announced tonight that the .Norwegian steamship Belridge, carrying petroleum in bulk, vraa torpedoed in the English channel off Folkestone. The Belridge came into Too Downs , near Deal, -with her foredeck awash, jr vUighteen of her crew lauded there. Pieces of the torpedo wero found aboard her. The ship made water very fast after sho was hit, but her fires were drawn in time to prevent a boiler explosion. When it seemed certain that the vessel was about to founder the captain ordered the boats lowered. A force of volunteers remained with the captain, and just when it appeared that the tanker was going to sink two Dover tugs came in sight. They got lines aboard the badly damaged vessel and towed her to The Downs. She is now anchored there, but is to proceed to Thames Haven convoyed by a tug. It is reported from Dieppe, France, that the French steamship Dinorah, from Havre for Dunkirk, was torpedoed by a German submarine today, sixteen miles off that port. She was towed into the harbor there with a plate on the starboard side stove in. Fishing boats brought in news that the Dinorah had been struck and assistance as-sistance was sent out promptly. Her cargoes will be' unloaded there. The Norwegian steamer Nordkyn has been sunk through striking a mine near Beruholm island, in the Baltic sea. All of the crew were drowned. Thero are two Norwegian vessels listed in marine records under the name of Nordkyu. It is believed that the Nordkyu sunk was the small ship of 2B3 Ions, owned by B. Olsen of Bergen. Ber-gen. The other Nordkvn was reported as sailing from Genoa "on Februarv 15 for New York and could not have "been the ship which met disaster.
