SERIES OF SCIENTIFIC LECTURES TO BE GIVEN An interesting Bcrles of lectures for the public will be given during this month and the next two months' under the auspices aus-pices of tho University of Utah. "Tho Smoke Problem ln Salt Lake City," by Professor Beckstrand of the mechanical engineering: school; March 24, "Tho Restoration of Soli Fertility," Fer-tility," "by Dr. Ebaugh of the chemistry department: April 7, "Electricity In the Household," by Dr, Men-Ill. head of the mining Bchool; April 21, "Swatting the Fly." by Dr. Vorhles of the school of medicine. These lectures will be given at 8 o'clock on the nights indicated In tho schedule In the assembly hall of the museum building of the university, und will bo free to the public
