V. Thornloy of Davlo county moved that the rules be suspended and the bill placed on its flnnl passaare, without moro ado. Senators Benner X. Smith and B. O. Rldoout of Salt Lako and Senator J. R. EdKhelll of Juai objected to this proceeding, pro-ceeding, declaring that the house had not shown tho proper courtesy in passing tho bf-uso bill in preference to tho senate blJL The vote showed that only eight of tho eighteen Bcnatora favored taklns the bill up as a special order In preference prefer-ence to tho regular order of business. Ab a reault, the bill went to the foot of tho calendar. It was reached before the senate adjourned, hut 011 mollon of Senator Benner X. Smith of Salt Lake the senate adjourned before the measure was taken up. the vote being practically unanimous. The bill Is now at the head of the calendar and will be taken up In the senate today. |
