Show HARDEST BASKETBALL GAME OFTHE SESSOi Utah Varsity and the B. Y. U. Will Clash in Strenuous Battle. .So much Intorcst tn being shown In the game between the university and B. T. TJ. tomorrow night In Provo that arrangements have been made tor excursion ex-cursion rates to take the university basketball bas-ketball men and their friends to Provo. The most intenso rlvnlry exists between these two big schools In basketball and each one Is determined to win tomorrow's tomor-row's game, as a victory will almost certainly cinch the state championship. So far this season tho teams have not .met. and with tho oxcoptlon of tho games with the B. Y. C. there Is no comparative scoro whereby a close estimate esti-mate of the two teams' strength can bo made. In those games the scores were about tho same, and there Is reason to believe that the two teams, at least until JiiKt lately, wore evenly matched. Tho B. Y. U. plays r different style of ball from the university. The Provo coach insists that his men shall bo able to throw baskets from any part of tho door and demands that they take n chance on anything. The varsity coach, on the other hand, insists on team work more than anything any-thing else and toachcg his men to work the ball down under the banket, where tho probability of landing the- score is greater. Last year the B. Y. TJ. won the oham-plonflhip. oham-plonflhip. despite the fact that the team work of the varsity was excellent. The Provo guards were so reckless that even aftor the ball was worked down under their baakct they roughed the Utah forwards for-wards so hard that Utah was unable to scoro when the ohance was offered. ' It Is expected that tho same tactics will he employed again, and both coaches expect to win. Roberts thinks that with "Olvmplc" IllchardH In the game at center cen-ter for his team, In every scramble the famous high jumper will be able to drop the ball into the ring. Bennlon's mon are speedy, and as they are now somewhat used to the style of tho B. Y. TJ. they hope that their team work will bewilder the Provoltos. The men whom Bcnnlon will take with him are Ott Romnoy, IToImstcad and Beal, forwards: L,on Romncy. center; Fifpatrlck. Skldmore and Clark, guards. Officials Avlll bo either Hark or aud Chrlatlanson or Harkor and Walnsgaar. Thlf afternoon tho freshlea wjli play the CJranito high school In Ihe latter'B gymnasium. Beforo the game the university univer-sity preps will meet the Granlto second team. |
