Show CIVIL WAR VETERAN I SUMMONED BY DEATH E. J. Ashley, Long-Tirae Resident of Salt Lako, Passes Away at Hospital. B. J. Ashley, civil war veteran and resident of Salt Lako for the last twou-ty-fivo years, who was injured Inst Monday afternoon when a wagon which he was driving was struck by a streot car at Third South aud Second West streets, died yestorday morning nt tho L. D. S. hospital. Ashley received se-voro se-voro injuries about tho head and death followed an operation. Mr. Ashloy was 72 years of age. Ho was born in Wisconsin and after serving serv-ing through tho war ho came weBt. Ho was a member of MaxwoIl-McKeen post No. 1, G. A. E., and Fidelity lodge No. 17, T. O. O. F. He resided at 17 Good- j hue avenue. Ho is survived bv two sons, B. B. and Charles Ashley. Eftx grandchildren also survivo him. Funeral services will bo hold tomorrow afternoon at Ebor W. . Hall's undertaking establishment under un-der the auspices of tho Odd Follows lodge of which ho was a membof. |
