Show TOO EASILY SCARED. Woman Mistaken Painters of Neighbor's House for Burglars, Special to The Tribune. OGDEN Aug. 2. The police were furnished fur-nished with a fair Illustration of what has resulted during the past few days from tho excitement duo to tho attempted at-tempted robberies and holdups when they received a telephone call about noon today, furnishing tho startling Information Informa-tion that a house at 832 Twenty-fifth street was about to be robbed. Tho woman wo-man who furnished the Information was so excited that Bhe forgot to mention her name. Within five minutes after tho call had been receded Detectivos Charles Pin-cock Pin-cock and George Wardlaw had reached tho scene of tho supposed daylight robbery, rob-bery, the motor patrol being glvon a thorough test of speed. The officers found two mon, who did not even run when the detectives approached. "What aro you doing here?" was asked by Wardlaw. "Why. we aro measuring up this houso for paint," replied ono of tho painters who had been observed looking Into tho window. Tho neighbor who telephoned in tho summons for the officer did not make her prensence known if sha was In tho locality. |
