Show FIRS! IP OF JARBIDGE DISTRICT Shows About Fifty Claims Surveyed Sur-veyed Up tp Present Time. Special to The Tribune. TWIN FALLS. Ida., Jan. 22. Charley Smith, district recorder at Jarbldgo gold camp, arrived hero today, together with Surveyor M. J. O'Byrne. who brought along tho tracings for tho first map of the district, showing all claims surveyed up to dale. There are about fifty of these, and he Intends enlarging this map as rapidly as the field notes aro reported In by tho large forces he has at work. Smith said ho left about 300 men in camp and that seven ty-flve to 100 were passed on the road going In and at Hot Springs, waiting to get over tho trail, over which sleet has been falling for a week, rendering render-ing Its passage dangerous. Ho did not anticipate that theso conditions would prevail much longer, however, and explained ex-plained that the fair weather hero probably prob-ably is experienced In Jarbldgo at this time. Smith and O'Byrne both declare that the showings secured by tho locators who have been doing location work during dur-ing the last two wocks equal preceding strikes In their surface appearances. James Leroy hns refused 30,000 cash for his property, and W. R. Swlcegood has a strlko from which the samples are declared de-clared to bo equal in richness to those found In tho Bourne bonanza. Working on Road. ing exchange sent out a crew of surveyors survey-ors and bridge and road builders this morning, having Instructed them to make a roadway for wagons and autos direct to camp over tho route at present traveled trav-eled by pack-trains only. It Is expected to be finished within a month, and will coat about ?G000. Arrivals continue hero from all points, bound for the district. Among the last was a representative of the John S. Cook & Co. bank of Goldfleld, who got on the train Wednesday. W. A. Stevens, man-agor man-agor of the Belmont-Jarbldge company, has many letters of Inquiry from mining men everywhere asking Information and for properties that may be purchased. The supply of these, however, Is limited so far, because claim owners have not been coming out of the district until they could procure their surveys. Secretary Secre-tary M. P. McMillan of the mining exchange ex-change has opened an ofilco here, as an Information bureau, and announces that he will cheerfully answer all correspondence correspond-ence relative to seats on the exchange nnd the Jarbldgo camp In general. The exchango was primarily organized to build the road Into the district, but the Intention Is to cxill stocks as soon as there may bo sufficient number, Inasmuch as Twin Falls Js the natural "clearing" point for the district San Francisco Mining Stocks.
