The Colorado Southern is about to rebuild Its line north from Fort Collins Col-lins to Cheyenne, a road that was in existence years ago, but thai Jay Gould had torn up. Since Hill has tho Colorado Southern, this Fort C'ollins-Choycnno lino becomes a vital link In connecting tho 7III1 lines In Colorado and In "Wyoming "Wyo-ming and north. The plan of tho Union Pacific is to build from Denver to Fort Collins, then northeast north-east to touch tho present main lino at abqut Laramie, Wyo. This Is along the old stage coach route and gives l"ss distance dis-tance and an easier grade between Denver Den-ver and Salt Lnko and the Pacific coast, and cuts out the bad climb coming west at Sherman hill, near Cheyenne. From Denver to Fori iUorgau Is cutting cut-ting across lots, while around by La Salle as at present is going two sides of a square. These are ohl plans of the Union Pacific, and ihe beginning of work this spring Is not unexpected. |
