Show MEETING THE ILL NOT BE CHANGED Majority of South Columbus Holders Oppose the Plan. At tho special meeting of the South Columbus Consolidated Mining company, held at the offices In this Saturday afternoon, after-noon, the purpose of the meeting was do-featcd do-featcd by a big vote. Tho meeting was called originally for 10 o'clock In tho morning, but postponement postpone-ment was taken until 2 o'clock In tho afternoon Tor tho purpose of giving tlmo for the checking up of tho stock present, and represented by proxies. Tho purpose of the" meeting, as stated In tho published call, was to changed Article XV of tho articles of Incorporation, Incorpora-tion, relating to the time of annual mooting, moot-ing, it being the desire of tho stockholders stockhold-ers represented by Manager Jacobson to have tho meeting on tho second Tuesday In June of each year, instead of February, Feb-ruary, as at present. This was desired for several reasons, chief among them bo-lng bo-lng to have the stockholders assemble In this city at a time of tho year when It would be possible for them to visit and Inspect the mlno moro satisfactorily nnd with less troublo than they can during the winter months. The Columbus Consolidated Con-solidated people bavo recently voted favorably upon such a change, nnd tho Interests of the two corporations being' closely nllled was another reason advanced ad-vanced for tho proposed change. Plan Disproved. For the successful carrying of tho proposition, a vote of 250.001 shares was reoulrod, and only 191.000 shares were hold by the Jacobson forces, while the opposing fnctlon was represented by H3.000 shares. Those opposed to the contemplated change charged that tho notice of tho special meeting had not been properly published, among othor things, and held that If such action were taken tho result re-sult would bo contested on account of alleged irregularities. Tho annual meeting of tho company will bo held accordingly on February 7. and It Is cjulto probablo that there will bo a lively contest for the control of that session. New York Mining Stocks.
