Walter Baxter has begun an action In the Fourth district court here against the Salt, Lake & Mer-cur Mer-cur Railroad company for $50,000 as damages for tho death of his one-vcar-old son, Earl Baxter, -which is alleged to lp.vc occurred In a wreck on defendant de-fendant company's railroad between Mer-cur Mer-cur ar.d Manning, Soptember 19. IfiJO. while tho child was traveling wllh its parents from Mcrcur to Mfmning over tho company's road. The complaint alleges al-leges that tho company was negligent In falling to keep its tracks in repair, and in equipping its cars with proper couplings and in keeping the engine and cars under proper control.
