The efforts, of tho church politicians to hush all talk about taking tho Democratic party out of the field, are becoming quite" noticeable, and it may have the desired effect, for a good many of those who a short time ago were very anxious to havo a meollns called to disband the party arc now be-, coming lukewarm and making tbe argument argu-ment that gains havo ' been mado over the state this campaign, and that another an-other one may bring complete victory. This is catching a great many of the unsophisticated ones, and they arc willing to continue Ihc battle a little longer. To the old workers of the party, however, this talk lo simply disgusting, since they realize thai it ds but a ruse of the church to perpetuate Its control of the political situation here. It is almost al-most sure that the county chairman will call the meeting talked W, but ii Is now very doubtful If anything important will be dbne. |
