Show NOTICE. j Notice of a special election upon tho question of Incurring bonded indebtedness. indebted-ness. Whereas, Tho City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, by an ordinance duly passed by said Council on the 18th day of June, 1908, and approved by tho Mayor of 6ald city on the 19th day of June, 1908, did order a special election to be held In said city on tho 29th day of July, 1908, for tho purposo of submitting to such quall-.ied quall-.ied electors of Gaid city as shall have paid a property tax in said city In tho year 1907, tho question of incurring a bonded Indebtedness in tho sum of four hundred and sevcnty-llvo thousand dol- I lara for tho purpose of increasing, lrn- ' proving, enlarging, extending, perfecting and adding to tho present water supply sup-ply and wator works system of said city; and also the question of Incurring a bonded indebtedness in tno sum of ono hundred and twcnty-flvo thousand dollars for tho purposo of completing, Increasing, extending and adding to tho present sower system of said city, constructing pumping station, installing two puinpa and necessary operating macnlnory there - , In, nnd establishing and constructing main sewers in tho northern portion of the city; and, Whereaa, Said ordinance directed and roqulred tho Mayor and City Recorder of Salt Lako City to ma:ro proclamation of said special cloctlon by publishing no-tlco no-tlco ,thcreof In three dally newspapers I published and circulated In said city; Now, therefore, Pursuant to tho terms and directions of said ordlnan.:o, and fin- der and pursuant to sections 303, 309 and 310 of tho Revised Statutes of Utah, 1898, notice ls heroby given, and proclamation is heioby mode that on tho 29th day of July. 1908, in Salt Lako City. Utah, a special election will bo hold for tho purposo pur-poso of submitting to tho vote of such qualified electors of said city as shall have paid a property tax in suld city in tho year 1907, tho following questions: 1. The queotlon of Incurring a bonded Indebtedness In the sum of four hundred and aevonty-Ilvc thousand dollars ($476,-000.00) ($476,-000.00) for tho purpose of defraying the exponso of Increasing, Improving, enlarging, enlarg-ing, extending, perfecting and add'ng to the present wator supply and waterworks water-works system of said city by laying pipe3 to completo now water supply mains; enlarging and extending tho East Jordan Canal: constructing con-structing an aqueduct on North Temple Tem-ple street from Fourth West street to tho Jordan rlvor. constructing a distributing distrib-uting reservoir In City Creek Canyon, replacing tho present three and four-incR watormalns with larger pip3a, extending watermalna In various parts of T.ho city; improving tho Jordan and Salt Lako City Canal from Big Coctonwood Creek to Twelfth South street; constructing new tanks In City Creek Canyon; oonatnictmg reservoir or reservoirs at tho lakes In Big Cottonwood Canyon; acquiring water rights in Big Cottonwood and Little Cottonwood Cot-tonwood Canyons: and construutlng conduit con-duit In City Creek from Stato stroct to Canyon road. 2. Also tho question of Incurring a bonded Indebtedness in tho sum of ono hundred and twcnty-Qvo thousand f$126,-000.00) f$126,-000.00) dollars for tho purposo of defraying defray-ing tho expense of completing, Increasing, improving, extending and adding to the present sower system of said city by constructing an outlet pipe or conduit from the Intercepting sewer at a j olnt near Seventh North and Eighth West streets to the Gravity sewor at a point near Ninth North and Fourth West streets; constructing a pumping station at or near said Seventh North and Eighth West streets and installing therein two pumps with motor, enginesa and other necessary machinery for operating tho same, for tho purposo of pumping ssHge from said intercepting sewer through said plpo or conduit into t,-alrt Gravity Bewor; and establishing and constructing main sewers in the northern portion of the city. Said improved, additional and new water systems, said Improved, additional and new sewcrago system shall be owned by Salt Lake City. Said bonda shall bear Interest at a rato not to exceed 45 per cent per annum, which Interest shall be payable semiannually; semi-annually; and said bonds shall become duo and payable at the end of tweiUv (20) years from tho dato of Issue, with ! tho option reserved to the city to pay or refund tho sumo at any time after tho oxplratlon of ten (10) years after the 1 date of Issue, and shall be of such denomination de-nomination or denominations as the Crty Council may hereafter determine, and tho not revenues rrom said water system shall be set apart for, and shall bo a sinking fund for the payment of said bonds nnd interest thereon. And tho City Council shall annually levy a sufficient tax to pay the interest on said sewer bonds, as it fnlls duo, and also to constitute a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof.
