Show PHILIPPINES TO FURNISH A BIG BANNER FOR TAFT CINCINNATI, July 11. Admirers of William H. Taft in the Philippines have furnished the material for the flag which will be raised in Cincinnati in his honor July 2S. This announcement was made today by the committee .having .hav-ing charge of the eoromonios of raising the flag. When Mr. Tuft's friends in the far-away islands learned that he would be a candidate for the presidency they asked for the privilege of furnishing" furnish-ing" tho banner. Tho material reached Cincinnati this week, and tho flag, which will be twelve feet by eight feet, is now being made. It was decided also that the men who would pull halyards which will send the flag to tho top of a fifty-foot pole shall be men who as boys went to school with Mr. Taft, either in the intermediate, Woodward high school or Yale, and representatives or each school will have a hand in the ceremony. The committee made a visit to the homo of Charles P. Taft today to select a placo to plant tho pole. |
