Show BRYAN AND SENATOR DANIEL NOW FRIENDS LINCOLN, Neb.. July 11. iho old wound between Senator Dauiol of Virginia Vir-ginia and William J. Bryan was completely com-pletely healed this afternoon, when tho two statesmen met at Pairview, shook hands and mado mutual pledges to each other. Senator Daniel was coming through from Denver with the 'Virginia delegation, delega-tion, tho chairman of which telcgrapheil Mr. Bryan that they would like to sco tho Fairview master at tho dcuot. Bryan met them and took the entire party out to his residence. Senator Daniel Dan-iel and Mr. Brvan walking arm in arm. Arriving at Fairview, Senator Daniel made a short talk, in which he said in part: "Whatever differences existed between be-tween the Virginians and you was settled set-tled when the gavel fell, bringing to i close the Denver convention. From that moment every Democrat in Virginia was for Bryan and wo will earr- tho state for you this fall." Mr. Bryan was very much pleased at the sentiments expressed by the Senator Sen-ator and replied in a happy vein, saying say-ing in part: "Wo expect to carry Virginia; wo always did carry Virginia, and we appreciate ap-preciate what tho Senator from that state has so well said. And, furthermore, further-more, we will undoubtedly wish to call upon the most distinguished speaker of that staio to assist tho party in neighboring neigh-boring states and T know now that wo will not ask him in vain for his assistance." |
