Show I VISITING ODD FELLOWS GIVEN A RECEPTION Several hundred enthusiastic Odd Fellows met at the J. O. O. F. temple on Market street last night to meet a number of prominent leaders of the craft who were in the city on their wav from the sovereign grand lodge session just closed at Denver. Among them were Louis F. Hart, grand secretary of Washington; T. E. Carter, grand representative repre-sentative of Oregon; J, B. King of To-Tonto, To-Tonto, Canada, and J. D. Clark of Australia. Aus-tralia. S. II. King of Jordan, No, presided, and after a brief address of welcomo from Rev. Peter A. Simpkin. a number of eloquent speeches were heard from the visitors, who reyiewed the great session at. Denver and reviewed the progress pro-gress of the order throughout tho world. The story of tho year's work in the grent fraternity, which numbers upward up-ward of 1,800.000 members, was finely told, mid at the close of the addresses an informal reception was tendered the visitors, Some of the party left last night for the Northwest and tho others will look over the metropolis today and see the liveliest town in the West. |
