Herman Riddcr, the ncw'ry-clccted treasurer of tho Democratic national committee, said tonight that he would on Sunday next appear before the Central Federated Fed-erated union and answer tho charge that ho was hostile to union labor, made against him 1)3 cortain delegates of tho meeting of that body yesterday. Mr. Bidder declared, thn't the allegation that ho was hostile to union labor was false, nnd that ho had alwayB employed em-ployed union men. Mr. Bidder, speaking of tho duties ob 'his new oflice as collector and cus-todmn cus-todmn of the funds for tho national Democratic campaign, said: "I will devote all my energy to collecting col-lecting funds for a successful campaign. All names of contributors and amounts contributed will bo made public on October 15, and sum6 received after that date up to tho close of the campaign cam-paign will be published dally." He also said that he would obey Mr. Bryan '3 instructions in refusing' contributions con-tributions from fnvor-sceking trusts and corporations, and that 110 contribution contribu-tion would be accepted from a person who expected favors in return. |
