Daniel Ragan, proprietor of a grocery etoro at Ogden, has been adjudged an Involuntary In-voluntary bankrupt by Judge Marntiall of tho United States District court here. The handling of tho cauo Saturday night by the officials of the office of the clerk of the Unltod States courts was on tho rapld-flro order. It was midnight Saturday beforn the papers In the cxiso were slgnod and scaled and Ragan's business busi-ness tied up so that he could not dispose dis-pose of It. Tho petition filed against Ragan wan signed by II I,. Griffin, the Shunc-YV'll-llatns Candy company and the John Scowcroft company of Ogden. and It sot out that Ragan owed about $13,000. It was claimed that ho had made an assignment as-signment of his store and stock to the Fred J. Klesol company of Ogden and the Flrot National bank of Ogden, to protect pro-tect those two creditors, and that the buslnoss wa-s to bo sold Monday. Mr. Ragan's Indebtedness to TT. L. Griffin 1 J7G9.9G; to the Shupe-Wllllams Candy company. $198.28. and to the Scowcroft company, $353. 53. After Judge Marshall had signed tho Involuntary petition pe-tition Saturday night, Deputy I'nltod States Marshal Smyth went to Ogden and took charge of Itagan's oatabllah-mcnt. |
