Nearly one hundred and rlfty representative repre-sentative druggists and medical men of Salt Lalco gathered In the groat banquet hall of the Commercial club. Monday evonlng, to partake of the delicious menu prepared and to discuss ways and means of benefiting tho Indisposed among tho general public of the community, to felicitate fe-licitate one another upon a successful year, and to arrange plans for carrying on another as successfully. The occasion was made one of general congratulation bv all present, especially on the part of the members of ibc Salt l.nko County Medical society, to whom th banquet was tendered as a compliment by the Salt Lake Retail Druggists' association. F. C. Schramm, ae roostmastor. Introduced Intro-duced the speakers, who discoursed learnedly learn-edly on subjects of interest to the profession. pro-fession. Dr. 11. X. Mayo spoke on "The Great Country In Which We Live:" Dr. W. A Wade had nomcthlng to say about "The Point of View." Dr. Robert W. Fisher gave nn address on "Pharmacy from a Medical Vlowpolnt." and .loy H. Johnson rend a paper on tho subject, "Js the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer Replacing Re-placing the Retail Druggist." The room was prettily deeowd with si ten mors of bunting, and huge bouquets of (lowers adorned the tables, which were arranged In the form of a great horseshoe. horse-shoe. Handsome souvenir menu cards, containing the list of toasts and the name of the officers of both organizations, organiza-tions, had hcen prepared, and these bore on the front page the inscription, "It takes skill to prepare well; it also takes skill to prescribe well." After the regular speeches had been made a number of members were called upon for Impromptu talks, and they responded re-sponded In n manner fitting both to the seriousness of the occasion and the subjects sub-jects given them. The more serious business busi-ness of the banquet having boon disposed of. much merriment was Indulged In. and the affair continued until a late hour. |
