Show WHEAT MARKET WEAK, WITH NERVOUS TONE Heavy Selling by Longs and General News of (he Day Has Eearish Tendency. CHICAGO. March 10. Wheat for May delivery declined nearly 3c per bushel on Ihe local exchange today, as a result of heavy sales by several of the loading longs. At the close the net loss for the day was 21 (J? 21c. Corn was up Sc. Oat. were 1c higher. Provisions wore 51il2c lo 15c lower. The wheat market was very nervous all day. The Government report on farm reserves left traders In an undecided frame of mind, but the prevailing opinion opin-ion seemed. to be that the report was an aid to the hears. The market slumped sharply during the first half-hour on quite general profit-taking, but soon rallied ral-lied along with corn. Offerings from commission houses and longs, however, were liberal and prices soon declined again. The market was boorishly affected affect-ed by the weakness of foreign markets and by excellent weather In the Southwest South-west for the fall-sown. crop. Sentiment became extremely bearish during ihe last hour because of active selling by bulls, the May delivery being espoclally heavy. The market closed weak and near "the bottom price. May opened 1c lower to 8c higher, at 958c to 961c. sold oft to 933c and closed at 93&(3933o. Clearances of wheat ad flour were equal to 57,000 bushels. The world's visible supply de-croasod de-croasod 2.300,000 bushels for the week. Primary receipts were 345,000 bushels, against 567,000 bushels on the samo day last year. Minneapolis, Duluth and Chicago Chi-cago repdrted receipts of 301 cars, against 195 last week and 531 one year The corn market was strong all day on active buying by short.s and commission houses. Small farm resorvee. firm cables and light recoipts were the main reasons for the demand. The market weakenod late In tho dav along with wheat, but the close was firm. May opened Ifaie to I'&Sc higher, at 641c to 642c sold at G4gc and then advanced to G52c The close was at C5S?XJ5Jc. Local receipts were 260 cars, with two of contract grade. Trade in oats was light, but the market mar-ket was firm all day In sympathy with corn and because of the Government report. re-port.
