Show , 1 i THE CONGRESS IN SESSION. j I The Dry Farming Congress begau its sessions yesterday in erccllont style. Governor Cutler, as usual, undertook to run the whole matter into the Alormou mold; but, of course, this will not, bo permitted. The Congress is a National body, and canuot afford to be switched off into anybody's dark corners. The persouuel of the convention is very high; earnest men of far moro than average ability are hero representing the interests involved. Those interests are of the vory highest importance to an immense area of the United States. That the work done by the Confrrcss. will bo of very great advantage lo the-whole the-whole arid region, wo do not think there can be the loHst doubt. The tnodo of farming represented by these delegates dele-gates is something that is of Ihc very highest vnluo here, in ao far as it may prove Miecesfrful. And that it will be successful in many localities and under man' conditions, there has been T?ork enough done to amply demonstrate. Good luck to the movement 1 say we. It. is a matter for rejoicing to sec so much interest taken in this Congress. That its deliberations must make, for good, cannot in the least be doubted. |
