Show BIG ADDITIONS TO NEW YORK POLICE FORCE NEW YORK, Feb. 28 The establishment establish-ment of another city police force was begun today by the appointment of Rhinelander Waldo, formerly first deputy depu-ty polico commissioner under General Bingham, to bo chief of police of the new aqueduct force. This is the force that will be used to take care of the Catskill Aqueduct to be constructed between be-tween tho Ashokau dum and New York Citv, a distance of about .158 miles. There will be from .1500 to 2000 men on the new police force when its organization organiza-tion is completed. Many of the men will be mounted. Captain .Doiigjas McKay, a West Point graduate ot 1005, was made deputy chief. The chief will receive re-ceive a salary of $3,000 a your, and tho deputy .tJOOO. |
