Show MAY INCREASE TAXATION OF MRS. EDDY'S PROPERTY CONCORD, N. II.. Feb, 28. The taxation taxa-tion of thc property of Mrs. Mar' Baker Bak-er G. 12ddy, founder and leader of thc Christian Science denomination, was considered by the board of assessors of this city torlay. City Solicitor Cook, in reply to questions, said that the board had tho power to increase M'js. Eddy's assessment for 1907, although he was" not prepared to say whether the board could assess on property that was not taxed prior to 1907. Former Senator William Chandler, counsel for Mrs, Eddy's "next, friends'' In thc recent, litigation, had written a letter to the city solicitor, which was rend to thc board, to' thc effout that nearly all the $788,000 recently placed by Mrs. Eddy in the hands of trustees, is" in interest-bearing securities.
