Rubber Ts Mmlo In France. India rubber that Is not India rubber Is being made In France. Henri Ju-melle Ju-melle has perfected a process of extracting ex-tracting rubber and gutta percha from bark. Different methods are used. Tho Delss process consists of grinding up tho bark and pounding it in a mortar and leaving It for seven days to the action of sulphuric acid. A black mass j is formed; this is washed and the rub-' rub-' ber Is separated from It by passing tho j mass between wood rollers, a stream of hot water playing upon It tho while. A better method Is to pound up tho acid paste so as to obtain tho rubber more quickly, washing the paste then In a continuous stream of cold water. Tho rubber which Is set free Is pressed together to-gether In the roller machine- and left in the air for twenty-four hours. In this way about 100 grains of rubber are obtained from every pound of bark. Chicago Tribune.
