Show HELP TO PUSH GOOD THING ALONG. Most every one believes iu spending money so as to keep f it at home. The merchants favor it above all others. The movement inaugurated by the Manufacturers and Merchants' association, which has for its purpose not only the develop- mont of Salt Lake, but the stim- ulating of pride in homo indus- tries, could be advanced im- mensely if the peoplo of Salt Lake and Utah would moke it a point to always purchase from local industries. -f- A dollar spent at home may eventually come back to one. f In order to demonstrate this thing Tho Tribune started in -f- circulation yesterday ten silver dollars, to each of which is attached a bangle giving the number of that dollar. On ono -f- f side of the bangle will be found these words: "Spend This Only -f at Home." On the reverse side: "When you receive this notify The Tribune and spend it quick!" f Ten of these were launched yesterday and they are now on their course of debt-paying and trade making. They will doubt- lessly fall into many hundreds of hands before many weeks J have passed. In ordor to keep f them in constant circulation Tho Tribuno will allow SI. 50 for f each one presented to a collector or at the counting-room in pay- 4- nient for subscription or ad- 4- vertising. 4- The dollars turned into The Tribune will immediately be placed In circulation and it is -f- hoped that every person In whoso hands these dollars fall will enter into the spirit of tho enterprise and push it along. This is not an advertising en- terprise, but purely a business proposition which is intended as -f an auxiliary to the good work which is being ;planned by the 4- local business men to interest the people in home affairs, The probability Is that before many days theso dollars will find 4- favor at numerous business 4 4- houses at a premium of from 4- 4 teii to fifty cents or more in 4 4 exchange for goods. 4- The Tribune starts them off, 4 4- as heretofore stated, giving tho 4- ten silver dollars to the enter- 4- prise and paying fifty cents 4 4- premium on each one applied on 4 4 a payment for subscription or 4- 4- advertising amounting to $1.50. 4- 4 LOOK OUT FOR 01TE OF 4 THESE DOLLARS. MAKE 4 4 NOTE OF THE NUMBER AND 4- SEND US WORD BY 'PHONE 4- OR LETTER WHICH DOLLAR 4 YOU HAVE RECEIVED, AND 4- 4 WHEN. 4- 4 It will not be necessary to 4- state how you received it or to 4 4- whom you paid it out. It is im- 4- 4 portant, though, for tho success 4- 4- of the enterprise, that you do 4- 4- not carry it about. DISPOSE OF 4- 4- IT AT THE EARLIEST POSSI- 4- 4- BLE MOMENT. 4 These dollars are bright, new 4 ones, and doubtlessly will have 4- 4- quite a history before they are 4 4- finally called in. 4. 4- Neither of thorn is mutilated 4- 4- in any way and all are worth 4- $1.50 at The Tribuno office any 4- 4- day in the week, or any num- 4 4- ber of times in the day. 4- Spend the money at home, 4- and spend it quick I . |
