Show WHEAT MAHKET HRH II THE CHICAGO PIT Depressing Influences Oft'set by Demand From Commission Commis-sion Houses. CHICAGO, March 30. The wheat market mar-ket here became firm today after an easy opening. The dcprclng influences at the start were largo shipments from Argentina and favorable weather for the crop In the United States. Thoao factors fac-tors wero more than offset by a good demand de-mand from commission houses, which brought about the upturn In prices. May wheat opened &o to U'S'c lower at 77 to und advanced to 77sJQ77c, Minneapolis, Duluth and Chicago reported re-ported -receipts of 340 cars, against XI last year. There was very little business In tho corn pit at tho opening but prices were steady on a fair demand from commission commis-sion houses. The May option opened at 4Hic und advanced to 44!e. Tho oats market was firm on a good demand by shorts. May opened a shade lower at 30V6o and sold up to 3Dc. There was little trading In provisions and the markot was steady. May pork was 5c higher at S1G.35; lard wub unchanged un-changed at SS.-10 and ribs were a shade to 7Hifl0c hlpher. May opened &c lower at 44Vic, advanced ad-vanced to 44ifrff,Mc and closed at Mc Considerable strength was shown In ino oats market. May opened a shade lower at 30V'c, advanced to 30'aSIc and closed at 30-JIc. Corn was steady In sympathy with Wheat, but tho market was a narrow one. May closed at 44Vc, a gain of Vfcc.
