Show WORKMEN GIVEN SMOKER . Snlt Lake and Eagle Gate Lodges Entertain En-tertain Friends. The conjoint smoker and programme given by the A. Q. U. "W. lodges. Salt Lake Valley No. 12 and Eagle Gate No. 10, In their hall, on Thursday evening, was attended by about two hundred members and their friends and a royal good time was had. The programme consisted of addresses upon the good of tho order and Its benefits The speakers were J M. Iockhart, grand master workman; S. W. Darke, past grand master, and G. A. Tuckflcld. J. T. Bywater sang a solo and J. "W. Gardner delivered a recitation Mr. Tuckfleld's address was in the form of an Illustrated story concerning the man who always puts oft Joining the lodge until it is too late The manner of Illustration was a skeleton draped In black cloth, and the story made a great hit. Both lodges were well represented and thero were alao a number of visiting members mem-bers and strangers. The lodge's brand and band of cigars were served during the evening. Applications were received from ten candidates. The committee having hav-ing mis successful affair In charge was composed of the following; Fred Gibson, Gib-son, chairman; A. Cllnc, Abe Martin. John Matlaon, Charles Croton and G. A. Tuckflcld. |
