Show A JEWEL GONE. In the midst of exciting public duty and demand, Hon. Richard P. Morris, Mayor of this "lty, Is smitten by the calamity of death In his household. His fair daughter, Rebecca Yaughen Morris, fifteen years of age. succumbing to typhoid fever on Sunday night The sadness of this affliction is terribly multiplied to Mayor Morris and his wife by the fact that this Is the sixth time that the grim reaper has gone to that home for his harvest within a period of ten years. Miss Morris was one of the bright and beautiful Jewels among the young girls of this community; a graduate of the Lafayette school last June, and promising a radiant life ,f accomplishment accomplish-ment f'r herself an i Bweel comfort for all her friends. The tide of human sympathy flows toward Mayor Morris and his family In this, their hour of sorrow If n any way their burden can be lightened by the consciousness that the lovely daughter was universally esteemed and that their own loss Is shared as n general gen-eral calamity, let them be uplifted by that benignant solace, for it Is theirs. |
