Thcro Is a Btrong desire to make this raco an exclusively trotting event, and If enough trotting entries en-tries are assured, this probably will bo the case. Yesterday Mr. Russell had an -army of boys out qii the track picking up stones, v hlch Is a decided Improvement, but tho track Is badly In need of water. Tho tlxno made in the workouts is gotlln fast enough to prove exciting. June Wilkes went In 2:23. last quarter :33. Osmond and Robert J. are both right at tho 2:20 mark; Alfonso Is stepping well within himself In 2:25, No one ventures a guess as to how fast Crabtreo's green pacer can step, as ho has novor been allowed to step to his limit, but for all of that ho works a mile In 2 25 and finlslif-s like a free-for-all. C. K. Thompson and Ezra Thompson have both made entries at Pueblo. Colorado Springs and Denver The circuit for those places 1 runs from Juno ISth tb July 4th. They will ship the week following the Dcco ration day races horc. Dr. E. A. Tripp has turned his trotting colt by Altoka over to Edwards for education edu-cation and training. It is hlB first experience experi-ence on a track, but ho sure will learn to trot some. C. H. Sarah Green Is taking her Jogging regularly, regu-larly, but George Walto has not stepped her any yet. Last year under Georgo's cureful handling sho showed herself to bo superior to any of her provlous performances perform-ances and won the confidence of her own-or, own-or, Frank Wilson, so when Walto la good and ready and goes to tho post for a race, the chances are Sarah Green will be ready, too. |
