HeLmICK, chairman of the reception committeo appointed ap-pointed to welcome the Incoming Methodist clergymen who are on the way to tho general conference at Los Angeles, met two Crainloads of the delegates at Grand Junction last evening even-ing and wired back that this city would be. well filled with tho visitors today. Some of the Incoming trains had not reached Grand Junction when latest lat-est advices, were received, but the appointments ap-pointments already made are as follows: fol-lows: First M. E. Church Dr. R. J, Cook, editor of the Advocate-Journal, published pub-lished at Chattanooga, and a voluminous volumi-nous author, will preach at 11 a. m. In the evening a union platform meeting of the Methodist churches of the city will be held, to be addressed by prominent promi-nent visitors. Dr. Talbot will preside. First Presbyterian Church Dr. C. E. Bacon, presiding elder of the Indianapolis Indianapo-lis district, will preach in the morning, and the Rev. W. H. Jordon of Sioux City, la.', will be heard In the evening. Phillips Congregational Church Rev. Robert Smylie, D. D., will, preach. Second M. E. Church Dr. Duano will preach. Illft M. E. Church Dr. Rlfenbark will preach at 11 a. m. Liberty Park M. E. Church Dr. II. IT. O'Neal of Jacksonville. 111., will preach at the morning service. Dr. C. E. Boyden will speak at tho State prison at 10 a. m. |
