Democratic convention finished Its duties du-ties today and Gov Hunt won out against the combined ciforls of his opponents op-ponents and those who pleaded against any action tending to a widening of the breach In the party During the mornIng morn-Ing the Martin forces believing that If I his name went before the convention It would Intensify the bitterness decided to put W II Watt forward Strangely enough Hunt took strength from the switch and he was nominated on the first ballot The committee on resolutions had a hard time In bringing forth a platform owing It wan alleged to their ammunition ammuni-tion having been stolen by the Republicans Repub-licans mid aside from their atHrmatlon of the Kansas City platform It contained con-tained nothing notable The Republicans of the State ace much comfort In the ticket nominated for IL lr not only weak In Its personnel but it IB gotten up not only without reference to gooprnphlcal considerations considera-tions but without any consideration to Its ale of two years ago There is not a single Populist on the ticket and the only one that was nominated was turned down cold But one place was granted on the ticket to the convention con-vention to order The committee was still not ready to report and a Kootenal delegate moved that a conference committee com-mittee of three he appointed to confer with the Populists as n lost motion to adjourn until 2 oclock was SELECTING A TICKET The chair then announced that nominations nom-inations for Representative in Congress were In order At this point however the question of a conference committee commit-tee was again sprung and the motion to suspend the rules wns lost It was the desire of ome to again secure an adjournment until 2 oclock but was overwhelmingly voted down CANDIDATES PRESENTED Nominations were again called for and Blake of Ada nominated Joseph H Hutchinson Owyhee thought It was necessary to select a man of noble character and ability and seconded the nomination Kootenal and Washington Washing-ton fell in line for Hut < hlnson Bear Luke nominated Tom Glenn but failed to get applause or secure a second sec-ond from any other county Macbeth of Custer seconded the nomination nom-ination of Hutchlnron When Idaho county was reached Mc Namuc nominated Avery C Moore lie was Indorsed by Elmorc n Martin deal while Casady of his own county nominated William T Bryan of Idaho Canyon Indorsed Moore as did No Perce When Shoshone county wns reached in the rollcall MaJ Wood arose and stated that Shoshone county had never asked anything hltherton of a broadcast to secure his nomination nom-ination Broxon of Bannock spoke likewise for a portion of his delegation Moore of Idaho desirous of still rubbing rub-bing It Into Hunt seconded Watt and
