| Show o = 0 GRAIN A PROVISIONS Market Fluctuates on Bearish Reports Re-ports Closed with Slight Change Chicago Nov 19 Wheat got a good start for higher prices at the opening by the strong tone of the foreign markets mar-kets Liverpool instead of declining in sympathy with the loss of 7s cents per bushel here yesterday opened Hd higher Paris was also reported strong and higher Another matter of foreign origin gave encouragement to the buhs The Liverpool Corn Trade New telegraphed tele-graphed that crop estimates from the Russian minister fully confirmed previous previ-ous bad reports The minister gave the wheat crop 7000000 as belqw last years Russian proper The effect was somewhat spoiled by another report which gave the shortage at 10000000 bushels for the whole empire The heaviness of western receipts also had a tendency to keep the market back The latter in fact was the only strongly strong-ly bearish feature of the days trading trad-ing Opening prices for May ranged from 90V to 90 with a sale or two at 90 9bVR Under the influence of the strong cables the price soon got up to 91 but it sagged again and all morning morn-ing hung around 90 cents Receipts today at the two big north leeeipts west receiving centers numbered 1226 cars against 821 a week ago and 91J the corresponding day of the year before be-fore I was expected that Minneapolis and Duluth stocks of wheat would show an increase for the week of about 2000000 bushels hut dispatches from there indicate it at only half that Duluth Du-luth with an increase of 600000 was expected and Minneapolis stocks an increase in-crease from 350000 to 400000 Chicago receipts were 68 cars against 112 last year Another bearish item of news was that a cargo of American wheat had been reshipppd at Buenos Ayres because be-cause Argentine expected to have plenty of her own Primary western receipts were large again 1154000 bushels compared with 674000 a year ago Liverpool closed higher by l < 11 than it closed the day before Th reason given for such an unexpectedly heavy advance was that 1500000 bull els of wheat destined for ports of call off the coast of the United Kingdom had been ordered to France Even with this as an incentive the price of May went up very unwillingly I finally advanced to 91 but when the Modern Miller report was received declaring the wheat area up to the average and promising an increase the price went off again in a hurry May was selling at 9030 at the close Corn was dull the exertion of the previous two days having apparently I taken all the lire out 01 trauers ousi ness was chiefly changing from December De-cember to May at 31s31 f cents spread The crowd in oats was large all day and a nervous feeling existed throughout through-out the session At the opening and for a time after there was heavy buy ing by people who were so prominent on the buying side yesterday Later they turned and sold heavily of December Decem-ber and the spread widened to 1 cent Provisions were again dull The I market was barely steady with the I range of prices less than 5 cents in everything I The leading l futures ngeJolows = I WHEAT No 2 I I Open I High I Low f Close Nov I 93 Dec
