| Show SHOWING IN TH DAISY Ore That Will Average at Least S7 and 8 to the Ton Regarding the Daisy mine on the west dip where a fine steam hoist is now being installed the Mercur Mercury Mer-cury says The Daisy has undoubtedly passed from the prospect to the mine stage When Captain De Lamar had the bond on the property when it was first discovered the ore body was only four or five feet wide I widened steadily and at the 100foot station was about eight feet At the 200 level a crosscut shows full 15 feet of ore which averages aver-ages 8 At the 300 level the vein was again crosscut and here it is all of 25 feet of nice clean milling ore The incline in-cline is now about 420 feet deep and at the bottom the ore body looks better bet-ter than ever and although a crosscut has not yet been made from this point I there is every reason to believe that the ore body has continued to increase in size with depth From the various 1 levels drifts are being run and assay returns show that all the ore thus far developed will run on an averaere a trifle less than 7 per ton Besides the oxidized ore there is a large auantitv of black ore of high grade which it will be necessary to roast before the values can be extracted closely and it is probable that the mill now in con I tefnplation will be provided with a roaster and that all classes of ores will be roasted as it has been demonstrated I demon-strated that by roasting a much higher high-er per cent of the values can be saved and that the extraction be then made I by leaching in 24 hours A peculiarity at this mine is the hanging wall which t is composed of fire clay containing some values which are increasing as depth is obtained and it is very probable proba-ble that it will finally become pay ore I is the intention soon to supersede the whim with a steam hoist as the depth is now becoming too great to operate the mine to advantage with I the former The Daisy has been developed I de-veloped very economically and in a minerlike manner under the management I manage-ment of A H Mayne whose directions I have been Cook ably carried out by Superintendent |
