INCREASING THE TONNAGE New Mercur Mill Now Taking More Ore Daily An increase in the numberof tons of ore being treated at the new mill of the Mercur GIld Mining and Milling company has just been made and in the neighborhood of 160 tons are now going in at the crusher The Mercur Salt Lake railroad is working night and day and delivering 175 tons on the dump of the mill The surplusis rapidly rap-idly filling up the ore houses there being be-ing now on hand in the neighborhood of 500 tons Another cleanup was made at the mill on Sunday and Monday and a shipment of the product of the weeks run took place yesterday afternoon I was rumored on the streets yesterday yes-terday afternoon that a serious ca ein had occurred in one of the working tunnels of the companys mines but inquiry in-quiry at the town of Mercur last night developed the fact that the cave had occurred several days ago and was simply the dropping of a compara tively small quantity of rock from the roof of the tunnel No one was injured and the working of the properties was not interfered with in the slightest degree de-gree On account of the shortness of the water supply at the Marion the people of the town are now getting mot of their water for culinary purposes at the Cannon shaft where the flow shows no sign of abatement or decrease Just as soon as the freezing weather is a thing of the past the Mercur Salt Lake railroad will fill its new tank at the summit from the same source a contract having been entered into sometime some-time ago t t
