Show STILL SHORT ON BLANKS Local Income Tax Collectors Confronted Con-fronted With n Problem Although there remains but one month in which the prospective Income In-come tax payers must make reports to the l a revenue officials the supply of blanks has long since given out and it is a serious question when another consignment win be received for not only are the district headquarters short but the Washington distribution office has reported repeatedly that the demand is much too heavy for the supply The great shortage occurs in the corporation paper in consequence of an oversight on the part of the outside officials who did not take Into consideration the fact that Utah has many more corporations than any other state or territory of its population popula-tion Strenuous efforts are being made by the local officials to secure sufficient suf-ficient blanks to meet all demands and they are of the opinion that a supply will days be received within the next few Advices have been received at the local offices to the effect that all persons per-sons must report whose gross income is 3500 or above There seems to bean be-an idea that the 3500 must be net but such is not the case Reports are being received but slowly and i Is very evident that both private citizens and corporations have decided to await the decision of the supreme court of the United States on the legality of the tax provided of course the court acts upon the matter prior to the 15th day of April by which date all reports must be in or the collector will make the assessment adding 50 per cent for expenses and penalty |
