THE BISHOP of Huron Canada recently made a somewhat fierce but foolish attack on science In speaking of the forces opposed op-posed to Christianity he said tho greatest piece of humbug was what was called modern mod-ern science which frightened hundreds of young people All men like HUXLEY and DARWIN were the dark blood of Satan that had risen up to try and shake the foundations founda-tions of the faith and turn away GODS people peo-ple trom the truth It would appear that the bishop himself had been well frightenea by modern science and that ho was simply communicating this fear to the young people peo-ple Oh had ho lived in bloody MARTS time When freedom of religious thought was crime How had the petty tyrant proudly stood And bathed his hands in the poor victims blood With his own hand the funeral pyre hed raised And fanned the smoking faggots till they blazed And blithe as country punkins at a wako Enjoyed the snort and danced around the stake
