Show Handcart Days: Variety Show Spectacular "Amahl and the Night Visitors," Visi-tors," will sing a medley from "Oliver" accompanied by his mother Bonnie. Another mother and son team, Todd Benson playing violin and Elain Benson at the piano will perform. Vocalist Becky Holt, Kelly Holm reciting, and children chil-dren from several Bountiful families will keep the entertainment enter-tainment moving right along. TWO VERY popular groups will be featured in the show. Gordon Johnson, Marvin Alexander, Ale-xander, Sue Bombard and Jane Harris of "The Entertainers" Entertain-ers" will sing a medley of your favorite tunes, and the barber- shopping "Ad Libs" will blend their melodious voices. Cathi Nuttall, Lynda Mills, Tori Postma, and Janette Topham formed their quartet while singing with Bountiful's Sweet Adeline chorus. Lynda is their choreagrapher and Tori has been an assistant director. Cathi and Janette recently sang with "Special Delivery," the 1980 region 8 champion and 17th in international competition. com-petition. Just for the kids (and some moms and dads) Woods Cross High School students will have fun with a couple of scenes from last year's production of "Charlie Brown." And if you like musical comedy you'll love a short scene from the opera "Die Fledermaus" performed per-formed by students of Ernest H. Wiemer. He recently opened the Mus Art Institute in North Salt Lake which is dedicated to teaching the performing per-forming arts. Mr. Wiemer comes from New York, where for 45 years he owned and directed the Queensboro Institute Insti-tute of Music. Many of his vocal voc-al students are prominent in professional musical circles. After studying in Europe and America, he specialized in choral and symphonic conducting con-ducting and won 28 gold cups and many citations and "T&OUG KEELER will not only sing for us, but will perform per-form in a small combo that will assist many musical numbers and provide incidental music throughout the evening. Glen Register and his guitar will appeal especially to the young people, and our preshow will get us off to a flying start with "The Small Fry Entertainers;" Entertain-ers;" Mary Landon, Mike Hancey. Miss Rowe recently toured with Robert Peterson in "I Do. I Do", has appeared in "The Apple Tree." "Bye Bye Birdie," "Bells Are Ringing," "Guys and Dolls," and others at the Lagoon Opera House, has starred at the Music Theatre of Wichita in Kansas in "Peter Pan." "South Pacific," Paci-fic," and others, and has starred star-red many times in Pioneer Memorial Theatre productions, produc-tions, including the recent "Annie, (jet Your Gun." She will perform some of the numbers num-bers from that show at the Regional Re-gional Center. Her brother and long-time Bountiful resident. Del Rowe. will join Ann in a number or two. Director Mike Dennison was hired in 1970 as National Sports Administrator for the Amateur Athletic Union in Indiana, In-diana, and upon returning to Utah coached the TAGS gymnastic gym-nastic club to five state championships cham-pionships and in 1980 the S ALTOS AL-TOS team won state and national na-tional tumbling championships. champion-ships. Under the direction of Mike Dennison and his assistant assis-tant Blake Starr, international winning gymnasts will present a fascinating demonstration. One of Bountiful's finest entertainers, en-tertainers, Noel Twitchell. who is a regular with the Utah Opera Company, at PMT and Promised Valley Theatre, and on many of your favorite commercials com-mercials will help highlight a NOEL TWITCHELL stellar show. Noel sings the National Anthem at Golden Eagle Hockey and Utah Stars games. His leading roles at PMT have included John Adams in "1776," Lazar Wolfe in "Fiddler On The Roof," Padre in "Man of La Manche." He performed many seasons as Fenally Parsons Par-sons in "Promised Valley." He has toured the state of Utah with the Young Audience Program, taking opera to high schools. After study at BYU, he was a winner in San Francisco Fran-cisco and Metropolitan Opera auditions. He has sung in "Tosca," "The Barber of Seville," "Otello." and "Aida" with the Utah Opera Company and next season will perform in "The Merry Wives of Windsor." He has starred in musical comedy as well, and with his wife Royce at the piano entertains frequently. KATHY SQUIRES dancers will perform throughout the evening,-adding that special sparkle dancers bring to a variety vari-ety show. Kathy, creator and director of Dance Unlimited, teaches jazz workshops through Utah and Nevada. She recently choreagraphed a Donna Fargo TV show, worked work-ed as special choreagrapher for the Miss Utah Universe Beauty Beau-ty Pageant and is currently training with many fine dancers dan-cers on the West Coast. Her dance troupe will keep your toes tapping. Several young performers will spark up the evening.
