Show Virginia Rites For Ellen C. White, 91 . i,v ae r HI k J& . . s' Ellen Cox White, 91, died July 6, 1981 at Bountiful, Utah. SHE WAS born December 29, 1889 at Agusta County, Virginia, the daughter of Samuel Jackson and Dora Catherine Swartz Cox. She married Massie Ligon Hughes Sep. 3, 1912. He died in 1933. She married Rev. William Wil-liam Curtis White Jan. 27, 1934 at Norfolk, Virginia. SHE WAS a Licensed Practical Prac-tical Nurse for over 20 years. She had lived in Norfolk, Virginia Vir-ginia for 40 years, in Washington, Washing-ton, D.C. for 20 years and came to Bountiful one year and nine months ago. Her husband served for twenty years at Old St. John's Church in Washington, D.C. She was active in social and cultural activities. She was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Church, the Women's Auxiliary of Norfolk General Hospital, and The Chrysler Museum of Norfolk. SURVIVORS are two grand daughters, Mrs. Gerald "Barbara" "Bar-bara" D. Thompson. Bountiful. Bounti-ful. Utah and Mrs. Mike ELLEN C. WHITE "Kathryn Ann" Gleason, Pitt-sford. Pitt-sford. New York. She had five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild . She is also survived by one brother, S.W. Cox, Roanoke, Virginia, and one sister, Mrs. R.L. White, Staunton, Virginia. Vir-ginia. FUNERAL SERVICES were held in Norfolk, Virginia July 13. 1981. and memorial services ser-vices were held Friday, July 10 at Community Church. Bountiful, Boun-tiful, Utah. Interment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, Virginia. |
