Show TJesli MIL Lina Rosemann's 86th birthday party will never be forgotten. She received birthday birth-day cards and telephone calls from many parts of the world. Her son in Germany was unable to make the trip across the ocean, but he did telephone his mother to give her his best regards. Werner and family gave Grandma a big birthday party, with a butter creme torte for a cake and several other cakes. Bishop Carl Johnson (her home teacher) was a guest at the party, as were Ellie and Grete, old friends from Germany, Ruth and Rosemary Kunch, the Harold Drawes, Barbara Oliekan, and all other friends from Germany. Lina will long treasure a birthday card, which came from Mrs. Spencer W. Kim ball and husband. The best part of the whole last Saturday Satur-day celebration was the smiling enthusiasm of Lina, who was feeling well and healthv. Policeman Wayne Jeppson had a good time as he got his three point buck on the first day of the season. The time he had spent qualifying as a protecu;r of the people paid off. He was hunting with Bob Child. Tom Eggett, former West Bountifulite, is enjoying his time attending school at the church university of Hawaii. His mother Ted Eggett, is looking forward to the time when she can take a vacation to go over to see him. Cheryl Bangerter is planning to go to the same university for the next term. Little Rhiannon Bradbury was feted at a second birthday party last week. She had a special birthday cake, with Halloween cookies on the top, instead of candles. Grandpa Bradbury, Grandma Bradbury, Brad-bury, and Grandpa Olsen were among the guests present, as were numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Daddy Alan Bradbury, assistant as-sistant scoutmaster in charge of the Blazer Scouts, remembers with pleasure, his recent hike with his charges. He and Wanless Southwick took their scouts to Perry Canyon, four miles south of Brigham City. They joined the first ever( authorized over-night trip for 11-year-olds. Among those who joined the group were: boxer patrol, Joseph Kirton, Darwin Steed, and Stephen Bender; midget patrol, Robert Lee, Kenneth i Garner, David Southwick, and Jack Paget One of the most fun things of the hike was being able to go to Swinging Springs and to swing across them like Tar-zan. Tar-zan. Nancy Orgill is happy that her time gathering school census material and data is almost over. She has been gathering information for Bountiful Elementary School. It is time to remember that tomorrow night (Saturday night) is the time when all West Bountiful Second Ward officers and teachers should be at ward conference. Starting Start-ing time is 7 p.m. Since the First Ward Chapel ,is not completed, meetings will go on as usual this week. Sunday was twin times for the Lloyd Hogans. Erma's twin sister and her mother and her twin sister ate dinner at the Hogans and attended Sacrament Meeting and the Fireside with them. The West Bountiful Second Ward Young Men and Young Women enjoyed an old-fashioned old-fashioned Halloween, with fun and games, last Wednesday. They had fun making and eating candied apples, among other things. Gerald Stout is going to have something new to spend his time. He is now a counselor coun-selor in the Young Men's organization, or-ganization, the teachers' advisor ad-visor and the venture chairman. chair-man. The following newcomers were welcomed into the West Bountiful Second Ward last Sunday in church: the Gary Bakers and the Jerry All-mans, All-mans, who live at 660 West and the William Birds, who live in the duplex with the Derbidges on 800 West. Idell Samuelson and Ruth Lee were two of the fortunate ones who enjoyed the opening concert of the Utah Symphony last week. It was exciting to hear since the symphony has just returned from a most successful tour abroad, Lisa Moore was happy to come home from C.S.U. 'last weekend. The Gary Neels were happy to have Grandma Neel visiting visit-ing from Salt Lake City, as the men were out hunting. We are sorry to report that Agness B. Mangus has been suffering a great deal after a fall. We hope that she is soon better. The members of the Second Ward were pleased to hear Vincent Humphries, an exciting excit-ing new musician from Woods Cross, play a piano solo in Sacrament Meeting last Sunday Sun-day afternoon. He and his companion were among the winners at Snowbird last summer. Members of the Fifth Ward hosted the members of the West Bountiful Second Ward at an outstanding Fireside last Sunday evening. Directing Direct-ing the affair were Ardell Byington and his son-in-law Jimmy Parker. Those in attendance at-tendance were made aware of the courage and perseverence of the pioneers who joined the "Hole in the Rock Expedition," Expedi-tion," to assist in the exploring explor-ing expedition. Slides, music, and narrative very effectively told the story of the beginnings begin-nings of colonization in the Southeast Utah area. The teachers of the Second Ward are sponsoring a fund raising project. They are selling wood pallets for storage. They are $1 a pickup load, if vou pick up the wood, or $5 a load if delivered. Contact Con-tact Warren King or Woodie Musig, if interested. The wood is located at 681 North 1100 West. The 18th annual Around the World Concert will be held Dec. 2 and 3 at the BYU. The Christmas Concert will feature fea-ture the renowned BYU International In-ternational Folk Dancers. Contact Bishop Mottishaw for further details. The "old" Primary presidency of the Third Ward, Denise Dennis, Dorothy and Carol Zesiger, got together for dinner and a good talk' session, at the El Matador Restaurant during the week. Welcome to Rowene and Robert McKinnon, who have moved into a home at 1544 North and 1100 West. They have three children at home and four married. We hope that their stay in West Bountiful Boun-tiful will be a pleasant one. |
