FOR SOME, though, it may not reap the material fun or necessities either they or their parents would like to see under the tree. That problem hasn't gone unnoticed, however, thanks to the "Sponsors for Santa" program being spearheaded by the Davis Area Community Action Agency. That program plugs together people in need of a holiday lift and volunteers of all ages into action to help assure a bit of the merry in Christmas for all, says Roselyn Dechart, program prog-ram coordinator. A DEC. 1 2 deadline has been set for those wishing assist- Santa Claus is anxious to visit everybody, this year, but he needs some volunteers to aid the cause. Volunteers from a club or group could also sponsor a needy family and gather donations. THOSE WISHING to donate don-ate are asked to consider only those toys or clothes that are in near-new condition because staff is not large enough to make major repairs or modifications, modifi-cations, she says.
