Show Fire On Thanksgiving Damages Btfl. Home BOUNTIFUL Thanksgiving Thank-sgiving Day turned into tragedy for a Bountiful family whose home burned and one occupant was critically burned. SERIOUSLY burned in the Thanksgiving afternoon fire was John Holmes. 43. of 251 East 1100 South. Bountiful. Bounti-ful. He suffered burns on both legs but is reported in "good" condition today at University Hospital. Chief Jerry Lemon said the man was burned when a cement ce-ment sealer substance he was heating apparently caught fire and spilled onto his legs. THE FIRE spread throughout through-out the kitchen causing about $11,500 damage to the structure struc-ture and an additional $3,500 damage to contents, according to the chief. He said it took only a few minutes to extinguish the blaze after reaching the scene, but firemen were completing mopup operations nearly two hours later. Fire damage was restricted to the kitchen but there was smoke damage to the remainder of the home, he explained. ex-plained. SEVERAL other persons were in the home at the time of the fire. They were able to rescue res-cue Mr. Holmes from the blazing blaz-ing kitchen and all others escaped injury. |
