Show FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN CALIF.; SERVICES HERE Mrs. Adelaide Chase Dalton, 87, former resident of Springville and sister of Mrs. Mary J. Finley of this city, died Tuesday at 8 a. m., at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. T.M . Sorensen. Alhambra, Calif., where she had been residing. resid-ing. Death was attributed to causes incident to age.' Born in Springville, Nov. 12, 1860, she was a daughter of Solomon Solo-mon Drake and Lydia Ann Thorn Chase. , Active in Twenty-first ward Relief Society work, Mrs. Dalton also participated in Springville Spring-ville ward and Wilshire ward, Cal., Relief Societies. On Jan. 20, 1879, she was married mar-ried to John Melvin Dalton in Springville. They moved to Mont-pelier, Mont-pelier, Ida., and then to Salt Lake City in 1902, where she engaged in the LDS temple work. Mr. Dalteon died in 1916. For the past 20 years she had resided with her daughters in Alhambra, Al-hambra, Calif. Survivors include a son and seven daughters, Melvin E.- Dalton, Dal-ton, Mrs. Mariam Drew and Mrs. Munn Q. Cannon, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Elnora Shupe, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Adelaide House, Mrs. Roberta Brundage, Mrs. Audrey Sorensen and Mrs. Helen Palmer, California; 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren,, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Jane Finley, Springville. |
