Show LE JEUNE HONORED BY RIFLE EXPERTS CALDWELL, N. J., Aug. 27. "Le Jeune day," In honor of Major General John A. Le Jeune, commander of the Second Sec-ond division in France, was celebrated at the navy rifle range here today, with the national pistol match and the United States service match as features. Lieutenant C. J. Christerferson, United States cavalry, finished first among ,400 competitors in the pistol event, with a score of 202 out of a possible 300. He defeated two favorites, A. T. Lane, Connecticut Con-necticut civilian team, and Lieutenant Commander W. A. Lee, N. S. N who finished second and third, with 288 points each. Lane had a better score on the long range than Lee. The United States marine corps team won the United States service match, in which five sixteen-men teams competed compet-ed the navy, army, civilian and national guard teams finishing in the order named. The scores of the marine team at the 200, BOO and 1000-yard ranges were loo2, 149 1, 1329; total, 4374. |
