Show Dies In Salt Lake James Collins, son of Mary (Grandma) Collins died at his home in Salt Lake City Sunday October 4. James was born in Wales, but spent his boyhood days witfi his parents who were pioneers of Ballard. The first Relief Society meeting meet-ing of the year was held Tuesday Tues-day afternon, with Mrs. Evelyn Eve-lyn Brighton presenting the theology lesson. Mrs. Ellis Denver and small daughter returned Friday from Florida, where she had visited for several days. Mrs. Ora Coston has traded her home in Measer for a home in Vernal, where she has employment. em-ployment. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brighton are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby girl, born to them at the Roosevelt hospital October 9. Spencer Squire and Vaughn Simper spent Saturday and Sunday Sun-day of last week elk hunting. Mrs. Dean Frandsen went to Salt Lake City with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Todd, and Mrs. Evan Olsen of Neola to attend the wedding of Joyce Todd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kendal Todd and Wayne Davis. They also' visited with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker Walk-er at Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Winn spent several days in Salt Lake City last week, where Mr. Winn had gone on business. Mrs. David Lundberg cared for their children chil-dren during their absence. Ward Primary Preparation meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Elton Kettle on Thursday Thurs-day evening. Mrs. Virgie Page and Velma Frandsen gave the lessons. There were 14 in attendance. at-tendance. Refreshments were also al-so served. Mrs. Lynn Bracken is employed em-ployed in Tooele and has also been called to work as a stake missionary in one of the Tooele stakes. While returning from a trip to Price with Omni Winterton, of Roosevelt. Ned Gines had the misfortune to meet with an accident. His nose was broken and he received several scratches scratch-es and bruises. He was brought to his home Saturday evening. Bishop and Mrs. Golden Collins, Col-lins, daughter, Myrtle, and son, Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Betts, Mrs. Marvin Kettle and Mrs. Mary Collins went to Salt Lake City on Wednesday to attend at-tend the funeral services of James Collins. Mrs. Mary Collins Col-lins was his mother and he was a brother to Mrs. Betts and Bishop Collins. Mr. and Mrs. Olie Rasmus-sen Rasmus-sen have another son added to their family. The baby was born at the Roosevelt Hospital last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stanley and Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle motored to Vernal on Friday night where they enjoyed a show. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Todd and Miss Joanne Todd came from Logan to spend the weekend week-end with the Todds and Wink-lers Wink-lers at Bluebell. Davis and Blaine Morrill were down from Tridell to assist as-sist the Simpers to move into the home they have recently bought from Mrs. Von Haslem. Jesse Hullinger went to Salt Lake City to attend the U.E.A. He was accompanied by his wife, who visited with friends. Their daughter, Dianne, was there from Logan to visit them. Mr. and Mrs. Lennis Rasmus- j sen and two children, of Springfield, Spring-field, Oregon, spent several days at the home of Lennis' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Rasmus-sen. Rasmus-sen. Mr. and Mrs; Dean Frandsen and Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Pace, of Neola, made a trip to the Book Cliff county on Friday. Robert Stolla, who has employment em-ployment in Salt Lake City, spent Saturday night with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Eric A. Stolla. Zane Asay was a visitor at the L.D.S. church at Whiterocks on Sunday. Mrs. Karl 'Shisler and small daughter spent several days this week at the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Mont S. PouL son at Duchesne. Mr. and Mrs. Don Killian, who reside in Ogden, spent the weekend at the home of Mrs. Killian's parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Brighton, and with Don's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Killian. Miss Eula Brighton, of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Brighton. |
