Show sum wpr school Special courses to begin CEDAR CITY Summer school officially begins at Southern Utah State College on June 15, but some special offerings of-ferings begin sooner. A two-week creative writing workshop with Herbert Scott, professor of English at Western Michigan University, begins on June 1 . June 7 is the starting date for Humanizing Relationships, Relation-ships, a workshop taught by SUSC sociologist Jack Stokes, and for Computers Com-puters in Education taught by Don Clark, a math specialist with the Utah State Board of Education. The first session in Pioneer Survival, Sur-vival, Crafts and Activities Ac-tivities begins June 12 with hands-on experience in pioneer gardenins. In addition, tnree classes in the SUSC-Utah State University Masters Program in Education begin on June 7: Secondary Ed 720 Models of teaching, Elementary Ed 665 Improvement of Teaching Reading, - and Elementary Ed 685 Improvement of Teaching Language Arts. "Special workshops and seminars begin at different times during the summer, some just after commencement, others running through the end of August," said Phillip C. Carter, assistant vice president for academic programs. "A detailed schedule of summer school events is available at the Registrar's Office in the SUSC Administration Ad-ministration Building, or from the Division of Continuing Education in Old Administration 203." Registration for regular academic classes in the summer school program will be held June 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Student Center Large Ballroom. Classwork begins June 15 for the first session, ending July 9. The second session b begins July 12 and ends Aug. 6. "Some academic classes are held for only one session, others run throughout the entire weeks," Carter said. "Since no special registration is held for xmammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm the second session, students are a dvised to register for botH sessions on June 14." Enrollment in special conferences and workshops can be completed at the Division of Continuing Education by mail through May 27 or at the Registrar's Office.
