Bentleys to be honored with open house for their 50th wedding day ues to farm on a small basis and has livestock interests. . Mrs. Bentley has .been in leadership positions in several civic organizations, including Red Cross, civil defense, PTA, Parowan Literary Club, Iron County Fair Board. She also has been active in LDS church work, having served in leadership lead-ership and teaching positions in all auxiliaries over the years. Among these have been ward Primary President, Stake board of MIA, ward and stake Relief Society president Both Mr. and Mrs. Bentley are very active in the local Senior Citizens Cit-izens group at present. They have four children: Mrs. Ila Mae Gumming, St. George; Garry H. and Val H. Bentley, Parowan; Fred M., Orem. Also 21 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The Bentleys will greet friends at an open house to be held in their honor Sunday, August 13, from 7 to 10 p. m at their home in Parowan. II Mr. and Mrs Charles F. Bentley of Parowan are receiving re-ceiving congratulations on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married mar-ried on June 28, 1922 in the St. George LDS Temple. They are lifelong residents of Parowan, having graduated from Parowan High School in 1921 with the second graduating graduat-ing class from that school. They began a life of community commu-nity and church activity and service then. Throughout the years both have served in numerous nu-merous church and civic capacities. ca-pacities. In his youth Mr. Bentley was active in athletics and dramatics. He has served as Iron County deputy sheriff, has operated a barber shop and service station He was a charter member .of.' .thel Parowan Paro-wan Lions Club and has filled a number of positions in the LDS Church, including ward chairman of genealigy, elders quorum president, ward executive execu-tive secretary.
