Show lackeys Not to Be Docked This Year NEW YORK, Oct. 30. Because of the war hackneys which have not been docked will be a feature of the ani-I ani-I raal national show which will open in Madison Square Garden November 12, it was announced tonight. The receipts re-ceipts will be given to the American Red Cross. Heretofore tne hackneys havo had their tails removed before going on exhibition in harness, under the saddle or on the end of a lead line. But the war has brought the breed Into prominence promi-nence for artillery and cavalry purposes pur-poses and many breeders are cultivating cultivat-ing hackneys with this in view. Recognizing the situation, it was stated, the American Hackney Horse society, of which Reginald C. Vander-bllt Vander-bllt Is president, has ruled that in Judging hackneys at this year's show there shall bo no discrimination against those with long tails. Mr. Van-derbilt Van-derbilt will enter a yearling which has not been docked. |
