BETH FISHER The MIA, with Phyllis Whit-taker Whit-taker in charge, presented the following program in Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting on Oct. 21: Talk, "My Ideal Boy," Darma Lofthouse; vocal solo, Faye Ber-ger. Ber-ger. Talk on the MIA theme for this year, Zelda Merry-weather; Merry-weather; vocal duet, "Hold Thou My Hand," Afton Hollis and Jeanette Stoker. The opening prayer was given by Parley Fisher and the closing clos-ing one by Deon Lofthouse. While on their recent vacation vaca-tion trip back east Mr. and Mrs. Gael Elmer stopped off at St. Joseph, Mo., and Duncan, Okla., to visit with two of Mrs. Elmer's brothers, who are filling missions mis-sions for the church in the Central Cen-tral States Mission. j A visitor in the home of Bishop Bish-op and Mrs. Gronning on Monday Mon-day and Tuesday was Vera Anderson, An-derson, a ..former resident of Milford and a worker in the Re- lief Society while she lived here. Mrs. Anderson, who now lives in Los Angeles and is active in Relief Society work there, came to Milford to make the acquaintance of her new! grandson, the young son of Mr. J and Mrs. Robert Kinross. Members of the Second Ward are happy to welcome the rest of the Calvin Bartholomew family fam-ily into the ward. Mr. Bartholomew Barthol-omew was finally able to secure a place for them to live, so his wife and children have now joined him here. Stake Board members and Mutual workers from the whole stake met in Milford on Oct. 18 for the monthly Beaver Stake MIA Leadership meeting. Helen Gillins, Relief Society president, wishes to announce that the annual Relief Society bazaar will be held on Friday, Nov. 9. There will be a luncheon lunch-eon served at noon for school children. The price of this will be 25c. The evening entertainment entertain-ment will be open for everybody and will commence with a cafeteria cafe-teria style meal at 7 p. m. Following Fol-lowing it there will be a fish pond for the youngsters and ice crea mand home - made candy will be sold. In the handiwork department there will be a fine assortment of aprons, crochet work, home-made rugs, quilts, tea towels, pillow cases and other items. People are asked to keep this date in mind and plan to be present. |
