Show DONALD JONES SHOT IN DEER HUNT ACCIDENT Donald Jones, 19-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jones of Milford, was accidentally shot last Sunday evening, while hunting deer on Bearspin. Riding in a Jeep with Terry Bowen as driver, and Gary Ferguson Fer-guson ' a,s passenger, he was struck in the left hip by a bullet bul-let from his own rifle, which was laying on the floor of the Jeep. The bullet passed thru a seat and after knocking several sev-eral shells from his cartridge belt entered the left hip, ranged to the right thru the muscles of the back area and lodged in the right hip. The bullet fractured the sacrum. Jones suffered severe loss of blood before he arrived at the Milford hospital, and he received re-ceived seven pints of blood from local donors before he was pronounced pro-nounced "out of danger" by Dr. Eugene Davie. Roland Fowles and Charles Atkin, riding horses alongside the Jeep, assisted in rushing Mr. Jones to the hospital. |
